Quetta Gladiators PSL 2021 Squad

PSL Quetta Gladiators players 2021 roster is placed here. The Gladiators are arguably their most experienced side in the PSL, having reached three finals. They were the runners up of the first two editions of the tournament, but they went one step further back in 2019 by beating the team that defeated them in the 2017 final, Peshawar Zalmi. However, the wheels well and truly fell off last season as they came crashing back down to earth, finishing fifth in the regular-season standings, which is their worst season ever.

However, in saying that, they only missed out on making the playoffs by one point, and we’re only two points off the second spot in a tightly contested league season. It didn’t help with them picking up just one win from their last five matches as they lost three and had one game rained off. Quetta Gladiators PSL 2021 squad is placed below.

Key Players on Quetta Gladiators Team 2021

Somewhat surprising then is that they retained eight of their team from last season. They predominantly kept their home-grown players with the exception of Australian Ben Cutting. However, they went big in the draft in their attempt to banish last season’s woes by bringing in Chris Gayle, Tom Banton, Cameron Delport, and Dale Steyn. In these four players, they have a great mix of experience and youth but, above all, plenty of ability.

The Gladiators have a tough start to the season as they take on the reigning PSL champions, the Karachi Kings. However, they will be encouraged by knowing that they defeated the Kings on both occasions that they met last season. They first met on game day six when the Gladiators ran down the Kings total of 156 runs with exactly one over to spare. They again met on matchday 30, which was the last regular-season game for both teams. The Gladiators again won by five wickets, but perhaps the Kings took that game lightly as they already had one eye on the playoffs by this stage. That game was Shane Watson’s last game for the Gladiators as he retires from the sport.
