2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20West Indies will begin the 2018 edition of the World T20 as the defending champions with the tournament kick-starting on November 9. The competition will be played in the West Indies and 10 teams will be participating in the tournament this year. Ten teams, which include the defending champions and hosts Windies, three-time winner Australia, first tournament champions England and India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. Bangladesh and Ireland came through a qualifier while the first eight were direct qualifiers.

The 10 teams are divided into two groups of five. Each side plays four matches in the first round and the top two teams qualify for the semi-finals. The semis will be followed by the final. The tournament will be played between November 9 and 24. The semis will be played on November 22 and the final on November 24.

Windies will be the host, with three venues chosen to play a part in the main tournament. Providence in Guyana, Gros Islet in Saint Lucia and North South in Antigua are the three venues selected to host the games.
