BPL Cricket Schedule & Tickets 2018-19

Bangladesh Premier LeagueBangladesh’s biggest T20 franchise based championship tournament Bangladesh Premier League is all set to start from 5th January 2019. And with the tournament having seen off some of the controversies from the past, BPL 2018-19 can be expected to see a huge influx of fans wanting to watch the games from the stadium and its tickets can be expected to be in a high demand. The BPL opening ceremony will be held on or before January 5, the first day of the tournament. Performers like Jacqueline Fernandez and Hrithik Roshan had been roped in for this event in the past. Can one can expect a bonanza on similar lines next season. Seven franchises will take part in the third edition of BPL – Dhaka Dynamites, Chittagong Vikings, Sylhet Sixers, Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians, Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings will all be a part of the tournament this season.

BPL T20 2018-19 Format

The format of this edition of the Bangladesh Premier League won’t be too different from the Indian Premier League. Seven teams will play each other in a home and away format, to make it 42 games during the first round.

At the end of the group stage of the competition in which there will be seven teams playing on a home and away basis, the top four sides will qualify for the knock-out round.

In this knock-out round, the top two teams, ranked one and two will feature in the first qualifier with the winner going through to the final. The teams ranked third and fourth will play in the second match, which will be an eliminator. The winner of this second match will go through to the next round where they will play the loser of the first match. The loser of this eliminator crashes out of the tournament.

The second qualifier will be played between the loser of the first match and the winner of the second match. The winner of this second qualifier will become the second team to make it to the final which will be played on 8th of February.

BPL 2018-19 Tickets

The BPL tickets of this edition of the tournament will be sold closer to the start of the competition. Interested fans can buy the tickets to the matches online or through Bank and Mobile Operators. Previous season’s Bangladesh Premier League tickets cost between 50 to 500 taka to buy the ticket. The service will be available for Airtel, Banglalink, Robi and Citycell SIM. Besides above, tickets will also be sold over the counters at the stadiums on match days.

BPL T20 match ticket can be bought by using DBBL and BRAC debit card. Apart from these, Visa/Master cards can also be used to purchase the tickets.

To buy tickets online, fans need to log onto the official BPL website and search for the desired match fixture. After making the transaction, the e-ticket would be delivered to the user’s email which has to be registered before buying the tickets. The ticket can then be collected through the selected delivery outlet. The user has to bring printed copy E-Ticket, National ID card and other required documents to collect their ticket.

BPL T20 Cricket Broadcasting rights

The telecast rights have also been sold at very good prices which will help to maintain the healthy financial status of the league.

Geo Super will be the official broadcaster in Bangladesh. Apart from that a host of other networks will telecast the matches live across the globe. The list of the remaining broadcasters and their regions is as follows:

Apart from the above broadcast networks, BCB is also showing the matches on live streams to ensure greater viewing of the league via Channel9, Geo Super, Neo Prime and Premier Sports. This will help in adding another revenue stream which would be very useful considering the financial issues which have blighted the league earlier.
