Quinton De Kock likely to feature in PSL 3
Speculation is rife that South African wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock could play in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League in 2018. And that he might turn up for the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi.
One of the key reasons for these rumours is the fact that de Kock will be playing in the South African T20 Global League, a tournament that will kick-start for the first time this season. He will represent the Benoni team which is owned by Javed Afridi, a Pakistani businessman who is also the owner of the Peshawar Zalmi side.
It now needs to be checked if de Kock’s national commitments allow him to take that trip to the UAE, but more vitally, if he will feature in the PSL when it is played in Pakistan – according to reports, eight games in PSL 3 are expected to be played in Lahore and Karachi.
Wicket-keeper batsman de Kock is currently the sixth-ranked batsman in the world according to the ICC Test Rankings and seventh in the world in the ICC ODI Rankings. He is the marquee player in the Benoni squad for the Global T20 League.
According to a report in Dunya News, Australian cricketers like Michael Clarke, Mitchel Johnson and Michael Hussey might also make it to the PSL squads.
