Khulna sign Sarfraz, Shadab for BPL 5
Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shadab Khan have been signed up by Khulna Titans for the next Bangladesh Premier League season.
Quetta Gladiators and Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz will look to build on his recent team successes and hope to add to his batting form as well as he takes field in the BPL 2017. He will also hope his presence can lead his side to success, with the Khulna Titans having made no BPL final yet.
On the other hand, Sarfaraz has led the Quetta Gladiators to successive finals appearances in the Pakistan Super League and won one title with them as well. More recently, he captained the Pakistani side to the Champions Trophy title with a win over India in the final. Clearly, Sarfaraz’s Midas touch is much wanted for his side.
Shadab Khan, who played in four games in the Champions Trophy and also features for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League, will also turn out for Khulna Titans. He picked up four wickets in the Champions Trophy including two in the final against India. Having played in 17 Twenty20 games, Shadab has picked up 26 wickets at 14 with an economy-rate of 6.11.
Among other players who have been signed up by Khulna Titans for BPL 5 are Sri Lankan leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna, South African fast bowler Kyle Abbott, Australian hard-hitting batsman Chris Lynn, Rilee Roussouw of South Africa and Lendl Simmons of Rajshahi Kings.
