According to the odds released by the bookmakers around the world, the Karachi Kings start off as favourites to win the title this season, but the Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United aren’t too far behind.
So, what are the teams looking like this year? The 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators have key performers like Jason Roy, Naseem Shah, Shane Watson, Ben Cutting and Mohammad Hasnain to raise the hopes of the team in defending the title successfully. Peshawar Zalmi who have made it 3 PSL finals have captain Darren Sammy, Tom Banton, Shoaib Malik and leading wicket-takers Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali in their team. Two-time champions Islamabad United will be looking to make it 3 titles this season under the new captaincy of Shadab Khan. The not so successful Lahore Qalandars franchise will be looking to turn things around with Chris Lynn joining the roster on debut along with support from Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Usman Shinwari and Seekkuge Prasanna. Multan Sultans will also be looking to make it to the playoffs this year under a new captain Shan Masood with support from 40-year-old veterans Imran Tahir and Shahid Afridi who can change the match on their day. Karachi Kings who are this year’s favourites according to bookmakers have smashing top order with the likes of Alex Hales, Cameron Delport and Babar Azam and some solid support from the experienced Mohammad Amir and Chadwick Walton.

The schedule for the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League has been released and there will continue to remain six teams in the tournament. What that means is there will be a total of 30 matches during the league stage of the PSL that will be played this season and four more during the knock-out stage of the tournament.
