Who Will Win Pakistan Super League?

PSL Predictions 2019

Pakistan Super League predictions for season 4 of the tournament will be placed here for all matches. Who will win the fourth season of the Pakistan Super League? Will it be the two-time champions Islamabad United or the 2016 winners Peshawar Zalmi or will Quetta Gladiators gain sweet revenge from their 2016 and 2017 defeats?

Or can Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings overcome their respective woes to go the distance? Of course, Multan Sultans, who featured for the first time in 2018, could also hold a few aces up their sleeve.

In the third season of the Pakistan Super League, the Islamabad United restricted the Peshawar Zalmi to less than 160 before romping home to a win on the backs of the Luke Ronchi knock. He had had a brilliant PSL before smashing a fifty in the final.

In 2017 the Peshawar Zalmi had defied odds to defeat the Quetta Gladiators in the final of the second edition of the Pakistan Super League to win the title. Predict who will win the third edition of the Pakistan Super League below.

According to the odds released by the bookmakers around the world, the Peshawar Zalmi start off as favourites to win the title this season, but the Karachi Kings and the Quetta Gladiators aren’t too far behind.

What’s interesting to note is that the new-comers Multan Sultans are as long as 6/1 to win the title. And while it’s obvious why, given how underwhelming their team looks but there could be value there if you want to dip early.

The schedule for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League has been released and the addition of a sixth team to the tournament has not only increased the number of teams in the competition, but it also means you have more chances to get your predictions correct.

PSL Predictions & Tips for 2018

Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi predictions & tips
Team batting second to win.

What happened in PSL 2017?

It was an interesting group stage in the second edition of the Pakistan Super League and after 20 games, the Lahore Qalandars were the side that were eliminated. As a result, the Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators , Karachi Kings and Islamabad United all qualified for the PSL 2017 playoffs.

In the first game of the PSL playoffs, the Quetta Gladiators edged out the Peshawar Zalmi after the latter lost three wickets off the final three deliveries to lose by a run. Karachi Kings routed Islamabad United in the Eliminator to make it to the second Qualifier where they will play Peshawar with the winner of the Karachi-Peshawar match making the final to take on the Gladiators.

Misbah-ul-Haq-led Islamabad United made a good start to the tournament before stumbling a tad after it was announced a couple of their players were allegedly involved in a spot-fixing racket. They came through well but a last game defeat pushed them to the fourth spot behind the Karachi Kings.

It was the Karachi Kings who made a very poor start to the competition with three defeats in three games and would have been knocked out had it not been for Kieron Pollard’s last ball six against the Lahore Qalandars. That was followed by a win over the United to take them to the third spot and a place in the playoffs.

Peshawar and Quetta had contrasting ways of getting to the PSL playoffs. If Peshawar won every alternate game of theirs, to make it nine points from their eight matches, Quetta had a brilliant start to the tournament and might have even ended on 13 points. Unfortunately for them, they lost their last two games to end level on points and finished second on net run-rate to the Zalmis.

Karachi Kings were dangerous opponents going into the playoffs given their momentum but failed to make it to the final while the Quetta Gladiators could end up with an opposite problem – that of having lost their momentum.

One factor that proved to be the difference between the teams last season was their adaptability to the conditions in the UAE. Not all of them had played here in the past and even if they have, the players normally take time to adjust.
