The Peshawar Zalmi will be up against the Multan Sultans in the 16th game of the third season of the Pakistan Super League. This match will be played on March 6 and the action moves back to Dubai. The match will begin at 9 pm PST (4 pm GMT).
Surprise, surprise. Who would have thought that at the midway stage in the league, the Multan Sultans would be leading the points table and in with a very good chance of making the playoff stage in what has been their first season of the tournament.
That inexperience aside, the Sultans had also had issues trying to get the best players given they were afforded the last chance to pick players in the Draft. Which is why, seven points from five points with just one defeat makes it a creditable performance by the Sultans, whatever happens from here on.
They had begun the competition with two wins from two matches, but when they fell away against the Islamabad United thanks to their poor batting show, it looked like things could go pear-shaped for them. After all, there’s always that chance that a new team surprises others with their brand of play but once they are found out, it could go downhill for them.
In this case, they were helped by a rained-off game against the Karachi Kings – the only other team that has seven points – before storming back to the top of the table with a rip-roaring win against the Quetta Gladiators. The Sultans needed just just 16.4 overs and the loss of only one wicket to beat the Gladiators in their chase of 103, with Sohail Tanvir and Imran Tahir sharing six wickets between them.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi are just behind the Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings on the points table, having garnered six points from five matches.
They have already lost to the Multan Sultans before in this tournament – in the tournament opener – before beating the Lahore Qalandars (twice) and Quetta Gladiators to make it to six points from five games. They would also know their only two defeats have come against the teams which are at the top of the table – Multan and the Karachi Kings and they would love to change things around.
Captain Darren Sammy hadn’t played the last game because of injury and the hope is he will return to the side to captain them. Peshawar Zalmi vs Multan Sultans 16th match prediction, betting tips & preview are placed below.
