Karachi to host Pakistan vs West Indies T20I series in April

Pakistan vs West Indies T20 2018 ScheduleWest Indies will tour Pakistan to feature in a three-match T20I series that will be played in Karachi in April. This was confirmed by the PCB chairman Najam Sethi on Sunday who said the Windies have agreed to tour the country for that three-match series.

The ticket prices are way cheaper compared to the PSL final in Karachi. General enclosure tickets will be available for Rs 500 and the most expensive VIP enclosure tickets will be Rs6,000. The Pakistan vs West Indies tickets are now on sale and can be purchased on and through a courier company for the matches on April 1, 2 and 4 at the National Stadium, Karachi.

Matches will be broadcast in standard TV channels either on Geo Super / PTV Sports if you live in Pakistan. In Europe Hum TV has acquired the broadcast rights for the series.

Karachi is going to be playing hosts to the Pakistan Super League final this season as well and the hosting of West Indies for this three-match T20I series only adds to the profile of the National Stadium in the city.

Pakistan Squad: Sarfaraz Ahmed (Captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Asif Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf,Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Hussain Talat, Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Nawaz, RahatAli, Shahdab Khan, Shoaib Malik, Usman Khan Shinwari, Shaheen Shah Afridi

West Indies Squad: Jason Mohammed (Captain), Andre Fletcher, Andre McCarthy, Chadwick Walton, Denesh Ramdin, Keemo Paul, Kesrick Williams, Marlon Samuels, Odean Smith, Rayad Emrit, Rovman Powell,Samuel Badree, Veerasammy Permaul

Speaking to the media, Sethi said, “Good news for you is that we have just signed an agreement with West Indies Cricket Board. I have been working day and night for that and they have now agreed to play three games on 1st, 2nd and 4th April and these matches will now be played in Karachi, instead of Lahore.”

The series is expected to be a one-off and while it wouldn’t be making any profits, it would be a step in the right direction in an effort to bring cricket back to the country.

The National Stadium might not be fully ready by the time the PSL final is played there or even for the Windies series but it will be fully back in action by the time the fourth season of the Pakistan Super League is played in 2019. Windies tour of Pakistan, 2018 schedule is placed below.
