Pakistan vs England Champions Trophy 2017ENG vs PAK predictions and betting tips for the Champions Trophy 2017 match on 14 Jun 2017 is placed here. Pakistan will look to make their first ICC tournament final in eight years when they take on England in the first semi-final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. This game will be played in Cardiff on Wednesday, June 14.

It was a rocky road to the final for Pakistan as they looked down and out on multiple occasions throughout the tournament before scraping through to the last four stage. They went down to India in a one-sided game which could have shattered the morale of most teams given the magnitude of the occasion.

However, Pakistan came back strongly from the criticism they received from one and sundry after that result to overcome South Africa and Sri Lanka and make it to the semi-finals along with India. Against South Africa, they were not expected to win but shocked the world with that result, but even in that game against Sri Lanka they looked down and out. Chasing a score of 230 plus, they had fallen to 137 for six and 162 for seven at one stage.

However, a stunning collapse of Sri Lankan fielding saw them come back with a 75-run stand for the eighth wicket between captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mohammad Amir and that saw them off to a mind-blowing victory.

England are coming into the game with a lot more confidence. They have had a team that’s been doing well in the white ball format, as was the case during the World T20 last year as well, and to make the semi-finals here, they have won all their three games in the tournament with much ease.

That has been the thing with England all these days, since the end of the 2015 World Cup, when they have focussed on white-ball cricket and paid rich dividends as a result of that.

England crushed Bangladesh in their first game chasing down a score of over 300 before putting the New Zealand middle-order out of their misery in their second encounter. They had qualified for the semi-finals by this time but what would have given them the most pleasure was the way they sent Australia out of the tournament with an easy win in their third and final league game.

As a result of that, they enter the semi-final as favourites to win the game but won’t discount the challenge of the Pakistani side that easily.
