Pakistani Players in NatWest T20 Blast 2017
The T20 Blast, which is England’s domestic Twenty20 competition, has often signed up for plenty of Pakistani cricketers and this year has been no different. The sign-ups have continued even when the season has begun thanks to last-minute replacements for injuries and other reasons.
Mohammad Amir is back in the UK after he was banned and jailed in the same country but for reasons more cricketing this time. He will turn up for Essex in this year’s NatWest T20 Blast as they look to ensure they can go the distance.
One of Pakistan’s biggest cricketing legends, all-rounder Shahid Afridi might have retired from international cricket but that is not taking away from the fact he continues to remain in demand in the T20 circuit all over the world. And for this year’s T20 Blast, Hampshire have signed him up and will hope his fastish leg-spin can deliver the wickets they have done for ages for Pakistan.
Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed joins Yorkshire and is most likely going to feature in 5 matches this season.
Yasir Shah is a part of the Kent squad but he isn’t playing any T20 cricket, not yet anyway, and will be featuring in only the first-class format but Junaid Khan will be part of the Lancashire Lightning squad for the NatWest T20 Blast this season.
In latest news, Fakhar Zaman has been brought into the Somerset squad as he looks to build on his century in the final of the Champions Trophy against India. His unorthodox style will be an excellent addition to the Somerset side who have been struggling with their batting in the shortest format of the game.
