MCC vs AfghanistanIslamabad United skipper and former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq will feature in the MCC XI for their game against Afghanistan that will be played at Lord’s. This 50-over match will be played on July 11 (11 am) and mark the first ever occasion when Afghanistan will feature in a 50-over encounter at the Mecca of cricket. Tickets are priced £20 for Adults, £10 for Over 65 years of age and £5 for Under 16 years.

Misbah, who recently retired from Test cricket, will join Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara and West Indian legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul in their bid to make it past the resurgent Afghanistan side, which recently was awarded the Test match status by the ICC.

The MCC team will be captained by Brendon McCullum, and the side will also have in-form England all-rounder Samit Patel.

Chris Read can be expected to keep wickets despite the presence of Sangakkara, while Ireland players Tim Murtagh and George Dockrell will also be a part of the side. Also joining the MCC line-up are Stuart Meaker and Chris Rushworth.

Misbah’s last series as a captain saw Pakistan register their first series win against West Indies.
