India vs Pakistan Final Prediction & Preview – ICC CT, 18 Jun 2017
IND vs PAK predictions and betting tips for the Champions Trophy 2017 match on 18 Jun 2017 is placed here. Pakistan will look to win their first ever ICC tournament since 2009 when they take on arch-rivals India in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy.
It has been an interesting journey for Pakistan, having started off as the eighth-ranked team in the world and lost to India in the opener, to having made the final of an event in a format they were always struggling to get going.
On the other hand, India were one of the pre-tournament favourites and have managed to live up to that billing to make it to the final. Question is who will win this Pakistan v India encounter to gain the bragging rights apart from the Champions Trophy title?
Pakistan’s issues against India in their opener were down to their poor batting. Chasing a score of more than 300 was never going to be easy for their line-up and that’s exactly what they will need to guard against. They have had two chases after that but both have been low scores that the side has needed to score – against South Africa and then against England in the semi-final.
On tracks in this tournament, batting second has been an advantage but if they can reduce the Indian batting top-order by picking up quick wickets, then that will be a huge plus for them.
The big news that needs to be followed is whether Mohammad Amir will be fit enough to feature in the final. He had missed out from the first semi-final because of injury and was replaced by Ruman Raees for that encounter.
India will be favourites but in a crunch game like this, it needs to be seen if they can go into the match avoiding any kind of pressure, then things could well pan out well for them. But that’s always the point – pressure in such a game is unavoidable and that will be something to watch out for.
India will rely on Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, their openers who have both been in cracking form in the tournament. Both have a century to their names, and are the top two run-getters of the competition so far, while Virat Kohli has already exhibited his good form. What could be a worry is their middle-order hasn’t been tried and tested too much and if the Pakistani bowling could eke out a few from the top, life could get really tough for them.
While India will start favourites, expect Pakistan to come hard at their arch-rivals.
