The opening game of the 2018 CPL will take place on August 8 in which six teams will face off twice against each other before the final that will be held on September according to the CPL T20 schedule. With no international games planned for the Windies during these dates, all their main players including top-notch international cricketers will be available to feature in it.

The six franchises will feature in a two-leg round-robin competition which counts to 30 games during the first round. This will be followed by the playoffs and the final as Trinbago Knight Riders look to defend the title they won last season.

The first round of matches will be Trinidad and Tobago & Guyana.

According to Windies CEO Jonny Grave, the CPL schedule marks the beginning of the domestic season of the region and the fact there’s a window in which all the best players from Windies will be able to take part in the tournament can only be good news.

The Chief Operating Officer of the CPL, Pete Russell, spoke about the playing window and the new schedule:

“Here in the Caribbean, we are blessed with some of the most exciting cricketers in the world and it is fantastic news that all West Indies players will be available in 2018. It will help make the Biggest Party in Sport even bigger.”

In the first five seasons of the CPL, Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders have both won the title two times apiece. CPL 2018 schedule and venue details are placed below.
